Subscription Update Obituary

     John H. Sagarian, Sr., 91, of Auburn, died Wednesday, December 31, 2014 in the Worcester Healthcare Center in Worcester after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 63 years, Belva C. (Benson) Sagarian; a son John H. Sagarian, Jr. and a daughter, Sandra A. Girardi-Uljua, both of Auburn; four grandchildren, Dominic J. Girardi, Caroline T. Uljua both of Auburn, John H. Sagarian, III, of Worcester and Amanda T. Sagarian of Florida. John was predeceased by two sisters.

John was born and raised in Worcester, son of the late Harry and Esther (Degerian) Sagarian. He attended Commerce High School.

Mr. Sagarian owned both Worcester General Repair and Sagar Corporation for many years. He invented and held patents on the double sided key machine.

He was a member of the Armenian Church of Our Saviour in Worcester where he served on the parish council for several years. He also was a 32nd degree mason with the Joel H. Prouty Masonic Lodge in Auburn. John enjoyed many family getaways to their vacation home in Bath, Maine where he would spend many hours on his boat.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather and visit with John’s family on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 10-11 AM in the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury Street, Worcester. Funeral services for John will begin at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury St, Worcester, MA 01609.
