Subscription Update Obituary

John F. Foster, 64, of Worcester, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at UMass Hospital in Worcester.

John is survived by his loving wife of forty-five years, Marguerite (Welch) Foster; their two children, Joseph J. Foster and his fiancĂ©, Andrea L. Lettic of Auburn, and Sharon L. Foster of Worcester; a brother, Paul L. Foster and his wife Cynthia M. Moberg Foster of Worcester; two grandchildren, Eva Ruth and Lillian Beth Lettic-Foster; many nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters in laws, friends, and his buddy–his dog, Shamus. John was born in Worcester, son of the late, Leonard F. and Ruth E. (Olson) Foster, and has lived here all his life. He graduated from Burncoat Senior High School in 1976.

John retired on his birthday in 2019 as facilities supervisor at Hanover Insurance, where he dedicated forty-two years of service. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, he enjoyed bowling, tinkering with cars, the Red Sox and Patriots. His greatest joy was being Pop Pop to his grandchildren and time spent with family, especially when visiting Hampton Beach and Florida.

Calling Hours will be on Friday, August 19, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His Funeral will be on Saturday, August 20, at 10 a.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church, 73 Lancaster Street, Worcester. Interment services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden Street, Worcester, MA 01606 or to the Trinity Lutheran Church, TV Ministry Fund, 73 Lancaster Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
