Subscription Update Obituary

JoAnn (Powers) Cooper, 76, of Auburn, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at home, surrounded by her loving family.

She leaves her beloved husband of 22 years, Howard R. Cooper; her children, Sharon Powers and her significant other, Martin Hussey, of Auburn, Christine Anderson and her husband Brian, of Auburn, Robert Krafve, Jr. and his significant other Rachel Jewell, of Spencer, Raymond Krafve and his wife Kathy, of Worcester, and John Poske and his wife Christine, of Millbury; eighteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; her brothers, Raymond J. Powers, Jr. and his wife Eileen, Joseph Powers, Gary Powers, Richard Powers, and Robert Powers; along with many nieces and nephews, and close friends, Kathy Whalen and Joanne Krafve, of Florida. JoAnn was predeceased by her son, Scott R. Krafve, in 1978, as well as her parents, Raymond J. Powers, Sr. and Philomena (DeQuattro) Powers, and her siblings, Eugene, Mary Ann, and Debora Powers.

Born and raised in Worcester, she was a graduate of Commerce High School. JoAnn spent many years in the healthcare industry, first as a CNA and later as a home healthcare coordinator with Howard. She loved being able to help others, and her family meant the world to her. JoAnn cherished time spent with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also cherished her beloved poodles, Gidget and Pepé.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to VNA Hospice & Palliative Care, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608 (www.vnacare.org/donors).

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with JoAnn’s family, from 10 AM – 12 PM on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central St., Auburn, with a prayer service at 12, and masks will be required. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
