Subscription Update Obituary

      Joan J. (Mathieu) Lacasse, 83, of Brooks Pond Road died Sunday, Sept. 17 in Overlook Masonic Home, Charlton, after an illness.

Her husband George H. Lacasse died in 2012. She leaves two sons; George P. Lacasse and his wife Susan of Spencer, Scott J. Lacasse and his wife Doris of Spencer, a daughter, Ruth A. Maxwell and her husband Robert of Hubbardston, a brother, Joseph Mathieu of Miami, FL, a sister, Rose Cox of Shreveport, LA, 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by two sisters; Lorraine Broullard and Alice Coonan.

Mrs. Lacasse was born in Southbridge, daughter of Elzear and Claire (Germaine) Mathieu. She worked in the patient transport department of St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester for many years before retiring. She was a professional singer and sang in many church choirs over the years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, camping and nature. She loved to sunbath whenever she could.

The Funeral will be held Wednesday, Sept. 27 in J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Tuesday from 5:00-7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to; Overlook Masonic Home, 88 Masonic Home Road, Charlton, MA 01507 or to Alzheimer’s Association of MA/NH, 309 Waverly Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
