Subscription Update Obituary

Joan B. (Chenard) McDonald, 81, died on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, in Beaumont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Westborough after an illness.

Her husband, Charles P. McDonald, Sr. died in 2017.  She leaves a son Steven McDonald and his wife Kathy of Lisbon, Maine, a daughter Pamela Courtney and her husband Joseph of Worcester, daughter-in-law Sintya McDonald of Leominster, a sister Janice M. Burns and her husband Dennis of Worcester, six grandchildren; Matthew, Meghan, Alyssa, Timothy, Jasmyn & Chelsea, two great grandchildren; Cecilia & Norah, and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a son Charles P. McDonald, Jr., and a sister Janet G. Chenard.

Joan was born in Worcester, daughter of Wilfred D. and Julia B. (Fenner) Chenard.  She graduated from Commerce High School. She was a cashier at Marshalls for 20 years before retiring.  Nothing in the world was more important to Joan than her family and friends, especially her beloved grandchildren.  Joans family would like to thank the doctors and staff at UMass Memorial Hospital ICU unit and the staff at Beaumont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the compassionate and outstanding care.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 22 from 8:30-9:30 AM in Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston Street, West Boylston  followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 AM in St. Christopher Church, 950 West Boylston Street, Worcester.  Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
