Subscription Update Obituary

     Jeanne C. (Routhier) Gonyea, 91, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Webster Manor Nursing Home in Webster. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Roland P. Gonyea who died in 1996; and six brothers and sisters.  She is survived by five children, Ronald F. Gonyea of Arizona, Gary P. Gonyea and his wife Cheryl of Webster, Craig S. Gonyea and his wife Nancy of West Boylston, Lisa M. Gonyea of Webster, and Michele L. Kimball and her husband Wayne of Dudley; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.  She was born in Beecher Falls, VT, daughter of the late Mathias and Exilda (Madore) Routhier, and lived in Oxford for 50 years before moving to Webster in 2005.

Mrs. Gonyea worked at Paul Revere Insurance Company in Worcester for 15 years. Previously, she worked at Steven’s Linen in Dudley and Telecron.  She was a former member of St. Roch’s Church in Oxford and a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Webster.  In her retirement, she volunteered at St. Roch’s rectory in Oxford and the Emmaus Center in Webster.  She enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, and playing games with her grandchildren.

A funeral will be held on Monday May 15, 2017, from Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 18 East Main St., Webster. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.  Calling hours are Sunday, May 14, 2017, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverly Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
