Subscription Update Obituary

Jeanne A. (Messier) Kimball, 81, a resident of the Briarwood Retirement Community in Worcester, passed away at UMass Memorial Healthcare-University Campus, Worcester, on Sunday, February 19, 2012.

She was born and raised in Worcester, a daughter of Joseph and Mary (Flanigan) Messier, and lived many years in Holden and Rutland before moving to Briarwood in 2004. She was a graduate of St. Stephen’s High School in Worcester and worked at State Mutual Life Assurance Company, now Hanover Insurance Company, the Roosevelt School in Worcester and more recently, as an Executive Secretary at Norton Company, retiring in 1994.

Jeanne was a member of St. George’s Parish in Worcester. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren whom she adored.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Francis W. Kimball; a son, Mark F. Kimball and his wife Maureen of Dunstable; a daughter, Susan Kimball Correia and her husband Richard of Merrimack, New Hampshire; two brothers, Joseph Messier of East Brookfield and Roger Messier of Texakana, Texas; two sisters, Marie Gosk of Sanibel Island, Florida and Loretta Quinlan of West Palm Beach, Florida; five grandchildren, Danielle and Rebecca Kimball, Kathleen, Matthew and Anna Correia; and many nephews and nieces.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 23, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A funeral Mass celebrating Jeanne’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 24, in St. George’s Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester. Burial will be private in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Donations may be made to the Briarwood Residents Assistance Fund, 65 Briarwood Circle, Worcester, MA 01606.
