James R. “Jimmy” Chester, Jr., 85 of Auburn, transcended home on Monday, September 25th at home with his loving wife of 62 years, Erma J (Riser) Chester at his side. He was predeceased by his children, James J. Chester, III and Lee Ann Chester, his sisters, Jean and Ann and is also survived by his sister, Mary Barnes of Worcester and a niece and a nephew.

He was born in Worcester, the son of Royal J. and Rose M. (Chagnon) Chester and served in the United States Marine Corps. Jimmy retired from the Norton Company , where he had worked for 25 years, and had previously worked for Polar Corporation. He will be remembered for his passion for cars, especially Classic Cars, his enjoyment for yard work and frequent trips to Foxwoods.
