Subscription Update Obituary

    James J. DonFrancisco, 78 of Worcester died peacefully Friday November 20, 2009 in the Rose Monahan Residence. He is survived by his wife of 41 years Elaine M. (Nigro) DonFrancisco, one brother Pasquale "Pat" DonFrancisco, and a sister Josephine Tamburro, a brother in law Michael Nigro of Alaska, and nephews Michael Tamburro and Perry DonFrancisco, nieces: Tanna Zona, Jorden Connell,and Megan Nigro. He was predeceased by a nephew James "Jimmy" DonFrancisco.

    James was born in Worcester son of the late Peter and Mildred (Spingla) DonFrancisco and lived here all his life. He was a graduate of Worcester Junior College, and attended Clark University, and served in the US Army. Jim worked for the Premium Beverage Company for 34 years before he retired in 1994. James was a member of Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church, and the East Side Post American Legion #201. Jimmy was a gentle quiet man who liked being with his friends but most of all he enjoyed time spent at home with his wife and family and of course the dog. He will surely be missed.

    A private funeral Mass was held Monday. Interment will be held in Worcester County Memorial Park. There were no calling hours. Contributions may be made to the VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester or to the American Cancer Society , 350 Plantation St., Worcester, MA 01605. MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. assisted the family with arrangements.
