Subscription Update Obituary

   Imelda A. (Vincelette) Chviruk, 76, of Worcester, died Friday, August 22 in St. Vincent Hospital after being stricken ill.

   She leaves her husband of 55 years, Edward J. Chviruk; four sons, Thomas P. Chviruk, Daniel R. and his wife Elizabeth A. Chviruk, all of Worcester, William E. and his wife Susan A. Chviruk of Auburn, and Kevin A. Chviruk and Laura Hopkins of Auburn; two brothers, Roland Vincelette of Holden and Hubert Vincelette of North Brookfield; seven grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a brother Rene Vincelette and a sister Julienn Mycko.

   Imelda was born in Worcester, daughter of Eugene and Emma Vincelette and lived in Worcester all her life. She was a graduate of Worcester Girls Trade School.

   She was a Sacristan in St. Joseph’s Chapel at the College of the Holy Cross, where she worked for 18 years before retiring in 2002. She enjoyed gardening and square dancing for many years.

   Calling hours are Monday, August 25 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral will be Tuesday, August 26 from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 600 Cambridge St., Worcester. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
