Helen Ann Chmielewski was born on 03 February 1895 in Likiškės, Vilnius Gubernia, Russian Empire (now Lithuania), daughter of Wincenty Chmielewski and Anastasia Wojnowska. She was baptized on 10 February 1895 in the Roman Catholic Church in Stakliškės, Vilnius Gubernia, Russian Empire (now Lithuania).

On 04 January 1913, just a month before she turned 18, she boarded the S.S. Niew Amsterdam in Rotterdam, leaving behind her parents and her sister Ona. On 14 January 1913, she arrived in the United States at Ellis Island.

She settled in Worcester, where her brother Joseph was raising his own family. She married Kostanty Niedzialkowski on 10 July 1918 in Saint Mary’s Church (now Our Lady of Czestochowa) in Worcester.

Helen worked at the former Bancroft Hotel in Worcester and, with the money she earned, she was able to purchase what was to become the family home in Worcester. She and her husband raised five children: Natalie Veronica, Raymond John, Jane Ann, Frederick Francis, and Henry Paul.

She died on 23 November 1980 in Worcester.
