Subscription Update Obituary

     Herbert M. Bracewell Jr., 76, of Old Webster Road, died peacefully on Sunday, August 16, 2015, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus, after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia A. (Day) Bracewell of Oxford; six children, Debra Starr and her husband Bob of Webster, Brian Bracewell and his wife Tammy of Oxford, Steven Bracewell and his wife Lina of Nahant, Herbert Bracewell III of Oxford, Yvonne “Nicki” Davis and her husband Jerry of Oxford, and Lynda Winslett of Douglas; a sister, Joan Lovitt of Oxford; 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Herbert M. and Yvonne (Lupien) Bracewell Sr.

Mr. Bracewell graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School in Worcester in 1956. He worked in the maintenance department at Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham for over 20 years. He was a carpenter throughout his life. Herb loved designing and building cabinets and furniture. His most accomplished project was adding an addition onto his own home. Besides working in his workshop, he enjoyed golf, playing the guitar, reading homeopathic books and taking day trips.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2015, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Calling hours are Thursday, August 20, 2015, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
