Subscription Update Obituary

     Hazel E. (Fahlstrom) Parker, 89, of Worcester passed away Saturday, January 12 in. St. Vincent Hospital.

Hazel was a little petite lady with a big heart, who loved to sing and dance with her friends. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Arvid R. and Helen M. (Conley) Fahlstrom and graduated from Classical High School Class of 47′. She married Raymond K. Parker and lived in Germany, Kentucky, West Point, NY and Washington State while Ray served in the Army. Upon returning to Worcester, she worked for 25 years in the accountant department at Hahnemann Hospital. In her retirement Hazel wasn’t one to sit still. She worked for 10 years as an administrative assistant at UBS, took classes at Worcester State University and volunteered in the literacy program for the Worcester Public Schools. Hazel also loved to travel with the Worcester Senior Travels and the Away We Go Travel Groups. She was also a longtime member of Saint Bernard’s Church and sang in the choir.

Her husband, Raymond passed away in 1966. She leaves two daughters, Pamela J. Cormier and her husband, William of Harleyville, PA and Tamara M. Anthony and her husband, Hank of Bradenton, FL; five grandchildren, Kristin Robinson of Leesburg, VA, Keith Cormier of Millersville, MD, Michael Houlihan of Virginia Beach, VA, Andrew Cormier of Kennett Square, PA and John Houlihan of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and her eight adored great-grandchildren. Her son, Todd R. Parker, predeceased her.

A Visiting Hour to Celebrate Hazel’s life will be held Wednesday, January 16 from 9:30 to 10:30am in Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am in St. Bernard’s Church of Our Lady of Providence Church, 228 Lincoln Street. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hazel’s church.
