Subscription Update Obituary

Harold W. Marengo, Jr., 82, of E.Brookfield, died Thursday, Nov. 10th at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Palmer, the son of Harold W. Marengo, Sr and Doris R. (Decoteau) Marengo.

He leaves his wife of 45 years, Patricia A. (Grogan) Marengo, his son; Harold J. Marengo and his wife Teresa of Dudley, three daughters; Lori A. Espino and her husband Dario of Natick, Paula J. Gervais and her husband Stephen and Donna L. Fyrberg and her husband Greg all of Spencer, three brothers; Paul Marengo and his wife Ramona of Dudley, Walter Marengo and his wife Arlene of Boylston and Mark Marengo and his wife Brenda of Charlton, a sister Paulette McDonald of Barre, 7 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother Richard Marengo and a sister Evelyn Klink.

Harry was a member of the Army National Guard in Worcester as a certified welding instructor, then was a mechanic for the former Conrail in Worcester for 30 years, retiring in 1998. He was an Auxillary Police Officer for the Town of E.Brookfield for many years. He achieved his 2nd degree black belt in karate, obtained a private pilot’s license in 2005, enjoyed tinkering with his 1979 Corvette and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle in his younger days. He will be most remembered for his generous spirit, exemplified through the kind, uplifting words and helping hand he so freely offered to everyone he met.

A Celebration of Harry’s Life will be held on Sunday, Nov. 20 from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Public House, 277 Main St., Sturbridge, MA. Burial of his ashes will be held at the convenience of the family in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Second Chance Animal Services, P.O. Box 136, E.Brookfield, MA 01515.
