Subscription Update Obituary

     Harold “Sonny” John Berry, Jr., 86, passed away on Wednesday, April 10th, 2013, surrounded by his devoted wife and other family members.
Harold is survived by his wife of 65 years, Loretta D. (Adamiak) Berry of Webster; seven daughters, Debbie Ashford of Holden, Louann Kustak of Webster, Jacqueline Rucci of Sutton, Diane Smith of Connecticut, Laurie Falkenburg of New York, Jennifer Quigley of Oxford, and Jessica Bristol of Millbury; five sons, Glenn Berry of Holden, William Berry of Brookfield, John Berry of Worcester, Kenneth Berry of Washington, and Ronald Berry of Rutland; 27 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; four brothers, Edward Berry of Leicester, David Berry of Centerville, Gerald Berry of Rutland, and Charles Berry of North Carolina; and two sisters, Gladys Chilleri of Holden and Dorothy Munhall of Uxbridge.
He was predeceased by five children, Cathy, Michael, Jeffrey, Gayle, and Gregory; his son-in-law, Paul “Dana” Ashford; and five brothers, Richard, Roger, Donald, Dennis, and Benjamin.
Harold was born in Worcester to the late Harold John Berry Sr. and Viola (Sheard) Berry. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He worked as a truck driver and a business agent for the Teamsters Local 170 until his retirement in 1991.
Harold enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, watching New England team sports, going to the movies, and attending LST-Naval ship reunions. The family would like to thank Roberta and Marilyn from the V.N.A. Care Hospice for the special care they provided.
A private graveside service will be held at Worcester County Memorial Park. Calling hours are private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the V.N.A. Care Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is directing the arrangements.
