Gloria M. (Couture) Bosse, 89, formerly of Spencer, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 after an illness. Born in Worcester and raised in North Brookfield, Gloria was the daughter of Rudolph and Lena (Thibodeau) Couture and lived over 70 years in Spencer before moving to Worcester in 2014.

She was a 1946 graduate of David Prouty High School. The following year, on April 19, 1947, Gloria married the love of her life, Raymond J. Bosse of Spencer, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. They raised their four children in Spencer where they spent the following 67 years together.

She was a teacher’s aide for many years at Grove Street Elementary School where she will be affectionately remembered for her kind and nurturing nature. Gloria amazingly balanced her family life and work. In her spare time, she worked as a representative for Avon Cosmetics and was a former president of the Spencer Women’s Club.

Gloria’s life was centered on family and faith. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, and looked forward to any occasion that would bring them all together. Gloria’s love and compassion, sense of humor, strong will, and dedication to her family and friends will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Regardless of what Gloria was involved with, she did it tirelessly and out of love. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Church, now Mary Queen of the Rosary Church in Spencer and served as a Eucharistic Minister, lecturer and sang in the choir. After moving to Notre Dame du Lac, Gloria immediately embraced the community and made new friends. She eagerly joined the chorus, book club and discussion group.

She will be affectionately remembered and missed by her beloved husband, Raymond J. Bosse; three sons, Paul F. Bosse and his wife, Sheila of Rutland, Donald R. Bosse of Austin, Texas, and David R. Bosse and his wife, Carol of Spencer; a daughter, Marie C. Watson and her husband, Brian of Columbia Crossroads, Pennsylvania; and a daughter-in-law, Wendy Robbins of Spencer; eleven grandchildren, Michelle, Michael, Sharon, Julie, Douglas, Jeffery, Adam, Bradley, Sadie, Derek and Lisa; ten great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces and a cousin.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Gloria’s family from 3 to 6 pm on Sunday, February 26, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Monday, February 27, at the Notre Dame de Luc Chapel, 555 Plantation St., Worcester. Interment will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Notre Dame Healthcare Educational Bridge Center, 557 Plantation St., Worcester, MA 01605.
