Gloria L. (Hopewell) Lewicki, 61, longtime Worcester resident, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 16, 2021, with her beloved husband of 21 years, Frank E. Lewicki, by her side. She had battled early-onset dementia for almost a decade.

Gloria also leaves her daughter, Brooklyn Lewicki, of Worcester; her mother, Gloria L. (Morse) Hopewell, of Worcester; her sisters: Donna Jandrow and her husband Phil, of Worcester, Elizabeth “Liz” Karpowich, of East Douglas, Robin Menard, of Worcester, Tina Crooke and her husband Les, of Jacksonville, FL, and Michelle Jakubiak and her fiance Mark of Worcester; her brothers: Anthony Lekas and his wife Karen, of Rutland, and Russ Lekas and his wife Phyllis, of Northbridge; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and many loving friends. She was predeceased by her father, the late Andrew Hopewell.

Born, raised, and educated in Worcester, Gloria was a graduate of the David Hale Fanning Girls Trade High School, Class of 1979. She held several different jobs over the years, including working for Giroux Trucking, the Bose Corporation, for over ten years, and most recently, working as an Administrator for the Massachusetts Parole Board, ending her career after seven years.

Gloria loved and collected Beanie Babies, as well as collecting candle snuffers. She enjoyed watching basketball and boxing with Frank, and enjoyed Saturday nights spent with her mom and sisters. After receiving her cosmetology license, she enjoyed cutting hair for her family and others.

Her family would like to sincerely thank Gloria’s best friend, Sue Raymond, another former Bose co-worker, for her loving care and friendship over the years.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org/donate), to help find a cure for Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Gloria’s family between 4 – 8 PM on Monday, December 20, 2021 at the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn. Her funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at All Saints Church, 10 Irving Street, Worcester, where masks will be required – kindly proceed directly to church for the service.
