Gladys R. “Nanny” Cullen, 92, died at home from myeloma on Friday, January 16, 2015, while in the care of her family and VNA Hospice. Known by all as Nanny, she was the heart and soul of her family and an immediate friend to everyone she encountered. She was born and raised in Greendale and worked for many years at the Vellumoid Company. She moved to Oxford in 1959 with her husband of 53 years, Stephen Cullen, who died in April 2008. Nanny loved to crochet – her afghans are legendary among family and friends. She loved the daily T&G crossword, and she dearly loved her cat, Callie.

Nanny is survived by her children, Terrence Moore and wife Sharon of Charlton and Sandra Frazier and husband Paul of Henniker, NH. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Joshua Moore of Spencer; Amy Moore and fiancé Matt Bumford of Henniker, NH; Stephanie Brown of Henniker, NH; and Justin Frazier and wife Kristy of Concord, NH. Additionally, Nanny leaves three much loved great-grandchildren, Ryder Brown, Avery Frazier, and Emerson Frazier. Nanny loved her family deeply and her family loved her. We were everything to her and she was everything to us.

The family would like to thank VNA Care Network & Hospice of Central Massachusetts for their steadfast care, support, and kindness as we cared for our mother in her final weeks.

There are no calling hours. The family held a private service at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford, with burial at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
