Subscription Update Obituary

     Gerard F. Boucher, 54, of Worcester, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017, in UMass Hospital.

Gerry is survived by his loving wife of twenty years, Dawn M. (Duggan) Boucher; a brother, Paul R. Boucher and his wife Ginny of Fallston, MD; two sisters, Michelle A. McGrath and her husband John of Charlton, and Theresa J. O’Malley and her husband Paul of Clinton; many nieces and nephews; he was predeceased by a sister Janine M. Remick of Worcester. He was born in Worcester, son of the late, Reynold J. and Lorraine M. (Granger) Boucher.

Gerry graduated from Holy Name High School and Central New England College and worked more than 20 years at St Vincent Hospital in the IT department. Gerry then went on to follow his dream of helping others. Upon earning a Jack Kent Cooke Foundation scholarship he graduated Summa Cum Laude, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Clark University and then a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Assumption College. He was working as a Counselor for Pathways Counseling Associates.

Gerry’s life ambition was to help and serve others. He spent many years volunteering for the Mass Association for the Blind. He was an avid animal lover. He enjoyed horseback riding, hiking, photography, gardening, art and drawing, but his passion was his drumming and music.

Gerry had a magnificent capacity to love. He loved his family and friends and spending time with them.

Calling Hours and Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, March 30.

Calling Hours will be held on Thursday morning, from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in Saint Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 260 Cochituate Road, #200, Framingham, Massachusetts, 01701.
