Subscription Update Obituary

DOUGLAS – George W Halsdorff, 66, of Ridge Trail, East Douglas, formerly of Kilby St, Worcester, died Friday, March 7th 1986, in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester after an illness.

    He was a machinist at Reed & Prince Mfg. Co. in Worcester for 38 years, retiring last year.  Mr. Halsdorff was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Europe.

    He leaves his wife Estelle J (Fortin) Halsdorff; a son Stephen J Halsdorff of Sutton; two daughters, Gail M Thibault of Worcester and Ellen J, wife of Richard Varney of North Brookfield;  his mother, Martha (Binley) Halsdorff of Barre; a brother, Benjamin Halsdorff of Worcester; three sisters, Marion Corecelli of Ashby, Gladys, wife of Alec Bottomley of Barre and Evelyn Flemming of Pheonix AZ; six grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.

    He was born in Worcester, son of the late Mathew Halsdorff, and lived here many years before moving to East Douglas five years ago.

    Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 9 am at Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond St, Worcester.  The Rev. Andre N Remillard will officiate.  Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.  Calling hours at the funeral home are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm today.  Flowers may be sent, or memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 1 Salem Square, Worcester MA 01608.
