George A. Ramian, Sr., of Worcester, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2014, in Saint Vincent Hospital, surrounded by his family, at the age of seventy-three. He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, the love of his life, Patricia (Persconis) Ramian; a son, George A. Ramian, Jr.; a daughter, Dawn-Marie Ramian and her fiancé Dirk A. Horn, all of Worcester; another “daughter” Tammy DiBenedetto-Peloquin of Leicester; two brothers, Anthony and Robert Ramian, both of Worcester; two sisters in law, Sharon Wright and Noreen Burnett; three grand-cats, Norman O’Malley, Julia Belle, and Zac Brown; nieces, nephews, and many loved ones. George was born in Worcester on November 24, 1940, to the late Anna (Sviklas) and Theodore Ramian, and has lived here most of his life. He attended Worcester Boys Trade, and after graduation he enlisted in the United States Army. He served his nation proudly as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division.

Following his dedicated military service, he worked as a truck driver for Red Star Express Lines, retiring after thirty years of service. He was a member of the Vernon Hill Post American Legion, the Teamsters Local 170, the White Eagle Polish Club, and the Auburn Elks. George was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed the outdoors and tending to his beautiful backyard. He loved music, animals, watching the Patriots and Red Sox, vacationing on Cape Cod and in Florida. Most of all, he was a family man who was happiest spending time with those he loved.
