Subscription Update Obituary

George A. Jette, Sr., 96, of Charlton, died peacefully at his home on Monday, March 25th.

He leaves his wife of 74 years, Jean C. (Connor) Jette, his sons; George A. Jette, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Spencer, Leo H. Jette of Clifton, TN, and Walter R. Jette and his wife Dorene of Charlton, his daughter; Rachel E. Jette of Grafton, his brother; Emile Jette of Brookfield, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers; Roger, Ronald, Edward, and Richard Jette and his sisters; Lucille Demers, Marie Letendre and Joanne Jette.

George was a wireworker at GF Wright Co. in Worcester before his retirement in 1991. He previously worked at New England High Carbon in Millbury.

Born in Spencer, he was the son of George E. and Mary L. (Dragon) Jette and later served his country with the US Navy during WWII.

He was an avid camper and member of Good SAMS. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in E. Brookfield.

Funeral services for George will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. in the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer. Burial will follow with Military Honors in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Thursday from 5 to 7p.m in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Hospital for Children, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
