Subscription Update Obituary

     Gary A. Cook, 73, of Skyview Dr., Spencer and Florida, died peacefully at home in Spencer on Saturday, April 14th 2018.

He leaves his wife of 50 years, Suzanne M. (Lacaire) Cook, his sons Jonathan A. Cook and his wife Jeniffer and Justin M. Cook and his wife April all of Spencer, five grandchildren Bradley and Samara Cook of Spencer, Madison, Ayden and Parker McKeon of Spencer, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a son Jeremy Cook in 1995 and his brother Carl W, Cook in 1973.

Gary was the owner and operator of Bemis & Hobbs Oil Co. in Spencer for 30 years, retiring in 1998.

Born in Worcester, he was the son of Robert H. and Doris M. (Kenward) Cook and later graduated from David Prouty High School in Spencer and served his country with the Mass. National Guard.

He was a former corporator and trustee of Spencer Savings Bank, former member of the Spencer Exchange Club, honorary life member of the Spencer Fish & Game Club and the former Massasoit Golf League.

Gary enjoyed his extended family and friends in Florida.

The family would like to thank the staff at Overlook Hospice for their compassionate care of Gary in his final days.

Funeral services and burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, were held privately in the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a local charity of choice.
