Subscription Update Obituary

   Frederick M. Flint, 87, of Worcester died on Monday, March 17th, in his home after an illness.

   His wife Alberta L. (Auren) Flint died in 1996. He is survived by a son, Lawrence W. Flint of Newport, NH; three daughters, Linda M. Roy of South Venice, FL, Sandra L. McMenemy of Worcester with whom he lived and Judith A. Houlihan of Worcester; a sister, Grace Hanson of Holden; a companion, Eleanor Bagin of Worcester; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. Mr. Flint was born in Shrewsbury, son of the late Thomas D.L. and Ethel M. (Brewer) Flint Sr. and is predeceased by 9 brothers and sisters.

   Fred was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II where he received a Purple Heart and he worked for the City of Worcester School Department for over 30 years and retired as a groundskeeper at Foley Stadium in 1980. He was a member of the Worcester Lodge of Elks #243 and the Main South American Legion Post #341. He was most happy when spending time on the golf course and bowling with his friends.

   The funeral will be held at 9:30 AM on Thursday, March 20 in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are on Wednesday, March 19 from 6 to 8 PM in the funeral home with an Elks ritual at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to UMass Memorial Hospice Program 650 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA 01605.
