Frederick J. Donadio, 77, passed away November 16, 2006 at home in the love and care of his family after battling lung cancer since 2004. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary A. (Miller) Donadio; his daughter and son in law, Cheryl A. and Russel Lesniewski of Shrewsbury; 7 grandchildren, Jamie A. Donadio, Angela M. Keb, Stacey L. Benson, Kelley M. Donadio, Justin M., Kurt R., and Kyle J. Lesniewski; 2 great-grandchildren, Elijah F. Keb and Nevaeh S. King. He was predeceased by 2 sons, Frederick A. and Joseph W. Donadio and 1 great grandson, Jericho Trudel.
He was born February 14, 1929 in Harrison County, W. Virginia, the son of Joseph and Mary (Viano) Donadio. Fred was raised in Worcester and lived 53 years in Grafton. After retiring he and his wife toured the country in their RV and had wintered in Las Vegas for the past 12 years. Mr. Donadio was a warehouseman for 30 years at Worcester Cold Storage. He also managed Country Plaza Lanes in Grafton, Auburn Ten Pin Bowling Center in Auburn and was a regional manager for Bowling Corporation of America retiring in 1992. He was a member of Local # 170 Teamsters, AFL/CIO in Worcester, The American Bowling Congress and a parishioner of St. Philips Church in Grafton.
Fred was an excellent ten pin bowler having competed in many tournaments throughout the country during his career. He was also instrumental in forming The Bowling program for The Special Olympics.
All are invited to calling hours Sunday, November 19th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m in RONEY FUNERAL HOMES NORTH CHAPEL, 152 Worcester St. (Rt. 122 & 140) NORTH GRAFTON. His funeral will be Monday, November 20th at 9 am from RONEY FUNERAL HOMES NORTH CHAPEL, followed by the celebration of his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m in his Parish Church of St. Philip, corner of Church & West St. in Grafton Center. He will then be laid to rest near his two sons in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Flowers may be sent or memorial donations made to V.N.A.
