Subscription Update Obituary

Frederick C. Parker III, 73, of Douglas and formerly of Millbury passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2023 in his home after an illness.

Mr. Parker is survived by his wife of 17 years, Michelene M. (Robert) Parker; three daughters, Anne Hammond and her husband, Jeffrey of Auburn, MA, Amanda Parker of Slatersville, RI and Ashley Parker of Milford, NH; three step-daughters, Michelle Strzelecki and her husband, Ted of Barre, Annie Bennett and her fiancé Richard Englehart of Leicester and Taylor Bennett and her husband, Behzad Bakhshandeh of Douglas; a sister, M. Katherine Reynolds and her husband, Richard of Worcester; a brother John Parker of Dennis, MA; several nieces and a nephew, grandchildren Sophie, Aiden, Mya, Madison, Avianna, Rosalie, Carmine, Sal, and Annalie.

Fred was born in Worcester, son of the late Frederick and T. Rita (Hackett) Parker and is also predeceased by a brother, Kenneth J. Parker.

He graduated from Auburn High School and attended Quinsigamond Community College. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and then worked for the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier for 30 years, retiring in 2006.

He was a longtime member of the Dudley Gendron American Legion Post #414 and also belonged to the Auburn Sportsman’s Club. Fred enjoyed target practice, fishing, bowling, playing guitar, coin collecting, reading, watching the Red Sox and the History channel. He was truly the happiest when he was spending time with his family.

There will be a calling hour 11:00-Noon with a memorial tribute immediately following on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at the Dudley Gendron American Legion Post 156 Boston Road Sutton, MA. Memorial contributions in memory of Fred may be made to the Dudley Gendron American Legion Post #414.
