Frances M. (Carkin) Gaudet, 94, of Boylston, passed away on January 19, 2021.

She has been reunited with her loving husband of 63 years, John L. Gaudet who passed in 2011. She leaves her son, John E. Gaudet of Worcester; two daughters, Mary F. Gaudet of Holden, and Marjorie (Gaudet) Hendrickson and her husband Michael Hendrickson of Boylston. She was “Gram” to five grandchildren; John L. Vanderburgh and his wife Christina Vanderburgh, Deana M. Thomann and her husband Bryan Thomann, Michael A. Hendrickson Jr., Amanda Rose Hendrickson and Edward A. Gaudet; six great-grandchildren: Jonathan, Matthew, Samuel, Lillian, Isabella and Niko; devoted niece Harriet McGinnis and her husband William McGinnis of West Boylston; many nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Frances was born in New London Connecticut on July 9, 1926 and spent her childhood growing up in Keene, New Hampshire. She lived the rest of her life in Boylston MA where she raised her family.

A descendent of the Pocknett family, Frances was a proud Tribal member and Elder of the Wampanoag Tribe of Gayhead (Aquinnah) on Martha’s Vineyard.

Frances was deeply devoted to her family. Having had four younger siblings that passed before her, she was the keeper of our history. She was always telling stories of family, her time growing up, and passed down precious memories to all those that came after her.

She was our Gram, and will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know her.

Funeral services and burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, are private. There are no calling hours.

The Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester is directing arrangements.
