Frances M. (Gangi) Delaney, age 93, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 21, 2022. Born in Lynn on January 20, 1929, she was the daughter of John R. and Madeline (Cordova) Gangi. She graduated from Lynn Classical High School. As a Navy wife, she lived in Lynn, Kings Park, Long Island, NY, and The Azores, Portugal, before moving to Paxton in 1966.

She leaves behind her two sons, John Delaney of Charlton, and Joe Delaney of Northbridge; a granddaughter, Kelly Delaney of Gatlinburg, TN; a grandson, Zach Delaney of Charlton; a daughter-in-law, Ally Delaney; and two great-granddaughters, Laylie and Nora.

In her early life, Frances was an accomplished dancer, pianist and accordion player. She was very proud of her auditioning and acceptance to the New York School of Ballet, her audition with the Boston Pops, and her dance training with Jack Stanley in New York City. She worked for Anna Maria in the registrar’s office for over 30 years.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Peg Kozak, Beth Derderian, Elba Cornejo, the VNA Hospice Care team, Elder Services, Home Run Services, Karen Peterson RN, Dr. Schrank, and the Paxton Police and EMTs for their care and compassion over the years.

She will be remembered for being strong willed, independent, a good friend and loving mother.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 29th at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden, and again on Wednesday morning from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
