Subscription Update Obituary

     Frances J. (Federici) Brown, 93, a longtime Rutland resident died on Friday, October 27th in the Knollwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Brown was predeceased by her husband Albert Brown and is survived by three sons, Richard Brown of Alaska, Bruce Brown and his wife, Teresa of Rutland and Jon-Michael Brown and his wife, Jessica of Rutland; three daughters, Kathleen Smichinski and her husband, George of Oakham, Patricia Lambert and her husband, Ernest of Rutland and Jayne Wortel and her husband, Cees of Harvard; 16 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great grandchild and many nephews and nieces.

Fran was born in West Boylston, daughter of the late Ernesto and Maria (Marini) Federici and was also predeceased by a grandchild.

She worked for many years as a machine operator at the Wiley Bickford Company and also as a production manager for Astra Pharmaceutical. Fran was a longtime member of Saint Patrick’s Church in Rutland and enjoyed playing cards and bingo.

Fran’s children and grandchildren will gather for a private funeral service on Wednesday, November 1st at 10:00am at Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond Street, Worcester, MA. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Brown may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office for Development, 2900 Rocky Point Dr. Tampa, FL 33607 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
