Subscription Update Obituary

     Evelyn R. (Jacques) Donohue, 89, of Oakham, died Sunday, April 10, 2016, in the Life Care Center of Auburn.

She was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of the late Gabriel and Ruth (Army) Jacques. She graduated from North High School and Becker Junior College.

Evelyn was the Executive Administrative Assistant to Judge Morris Gould at the Worcester County Courthouse, later retiring in 1994 from the Hamden County Courthouse. She was also a Deputy Sheriff for Worcester County. Evelyn was honored by the Sunday Telegram for being one of the Best Dressed Business Women in the Worcester area.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Donohue, who died in 1970. She leaves her loving children, James R. Tobin and his wife, Anne, of Spencer, and Susan Walsh of Auburn; six grandchildren, William, Chris, John, Dawn, Tara, and Melissa; sixteen great- grandchildren, and Meeko, her beloved dog.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, from 4-7 PM, in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. The funeral will be on Thursday, April 14, 2016, from the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, with a Mass at 10 AM in North American Martyr’s Church, 8 Wyoma Drive, Auburn. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave, Salem MA 01970, or Neads, 305 Redemption Rock Trail, Princeton MA 01541.
