Eva Johanna (Ericson) Stranieri, 99, born February 11, 1924, went home to be with the LORD on Thursday, April 20, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Stranieri, Sr. who passed away in 2004 and the loving mother of the late Linda Ann Stranieri who passed away in 2011.

She leaves her son, Joseph Stranieri, Jr. and his wife, Kathleen; her two grandsons, Michael and John Stranieri, all of Paxton; many nieces and nephews including Gail Connelly of Conway, MA, Lana Andrews and her husband, Dan of Charlotte, NC, Berit Johnson of Barre, Della Sullivan of Troy, MI and Deborah Hengen of Jupiter, FL. In addition to her parents, Petrus and Anna (Hager) Ericson, her husband of 63 years, Joseph, and her daughter, Linda she was predeceased by three brothers, two sisters and her niece, Nancy Robichard of FL.

Eva attended Rutland High School and went on to further her education at Salter’s Secretarial School. Her husband served in WWII and Eva worked for the telephone company in Dayton, OH awaiting his discharge from the service. Over the years, she enjoyed taking many Night Life classes. After having a born-again experience, Eva enjoyed ministering with her husband at local nursing homes, senior luncheons and participated in Bible Study groups. Eva was a member of Women’s A Glow, a Christian organization and served as treasurer and corresponding secretary. Eva also volunteered her time at the front desk of two Worcester hospitals.

In her spare time, she enjoyed oil painting, photography, ceramics and Early American decorating classes. She also loved to travel with her husband, Joe. One of her fondest memories was her trip to Israel. In her younger years, she enjoyed water skiing and singing in the choir at Assembly of God Church.
Eva was very health conscious and proud to have received a certificate in Healthy Eating for Successful Living.

Some of Eva’s best years were spent helping to raise her two grandsons and making special dinners and desserts for her family.

Eva would like to thank the Theodoss family and friends from Holden Chapel where she was a member, for their love and attention in her times of need.

Eva will be laid to rest beside her husband Joe during a private graveside service. Family and friends are welcome to celebrate Eva’s life by attending a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 13 at Holden Chapel, 279 Reservoir Street, Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holden Chapel, 279 Reservoir Street, Holden, MA 01520 or to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, CA 22202.
