Subscription Update Obituary

     Eugenia “Jean” (Michalski) Baniukiewicz, 90, formerly of 25 Rawson Drive., died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014 in Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis.

She was the wife of Charles P. Baniukiewicz, Sr. who died in 2007. She leaves two sons Charles P. Baniukiewicz, Jr. and his wife Darel of Harwich, and Alan M. Baniukiewicz and his wife Laurie of Leicester, a daughter Janine K.Spalding and her husband Gerrick of Leicester, three grandchildren Theodore C. Baniukiewicz , Chantelle Pepin and her husband Leo, and Katrina Baniukiewicz, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Jean was a longtime occupational therapist at Haywood Valley Nursing Home in Worcester, retiring in 1978.

Born in Grafton, she was the daughter of Peter and Caroline (Ramien) Michalski and graduated from Commerce High in Worcester, and later earned a Bachelors as well as a Masters Degree from Worcester State College. She was a member of the “Scrabble Club of America”. Jean was a prolific writer and poet and had some of her poetry published.

Private funeral services and burial in Worcester County Memorial Park will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Mass., 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, Ma. 02472.
