Subscription Update Obituary

    Eugene J. Cloutier, 74, of 78 Tower St. was stricken Monday at the home of his brother-in-law and taken to City Hospital, where he was dead on arrival.  Mr. Cloutier was a marble and tile setter.  He last worked at the Vermont Marble and Tile Co. in Vermont for five years.  He had worked for the Lanzetta Corp. in Albany, N.Y., for five years.  For 25 years, he worked for C.V. Bianchi & Sons in Worcester.  During World War II, he worked at Wyman-Gordon Co.  He retired in 1965. 

    He leaves his wife, Mrs. Stasia T. (Maslowski) Cloutier; three sons, Francis S. Cloutier of Albany, N.Y., Eugene J. Cloutier Jr. and David J. Cloutier, both of Worcester; three daughters, Agnes A., wife of Arthur J. Belair, and Irene E., wife of Francis W. Mahoney, both of Worcester, and Elizabeth M., wife of Leonard F. Green of Millbury.  He also leaves eight brothers, Alphage and Henry Cloutier of Titusville, Fla., Aime Cloutier of Husdon, Armand Cloutier of Auburn, Charles Cloutier of Hyannis, Leo Cloutier of Spencer, Omer Cloutier of Holden, and Adelard Cloutier of Shrewbury; three sisters, Regina, wife of Roland Vaudrieul of Worcester, and Laura, wife of Merle Englehart and Lillian, wife of Virgil Butler, both of Titusville; 24 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. 

    Mr. Cloutier had served 38 years with the National Guard.  He was discharged as a mess sergeant with Company D, 181st National Guard.  He also served in the Massachusetts State Guard.  Mr. Cloutier was a member of Local 6, Bricklayers International Union.  He was born in New Bedford, a son of Joseph Isadore Cloutier and Alma (Gemme) Cloutier.  He had lived here 64 years. 

    The funeral will be held tomorrow from Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., with a Mass at 10 am in Immaculate Conception Church, 351 Grove St.  Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.  Calling hours at the funeral home are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm today.  The family requests flowers be omitted and suggests memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of Immaculate Conception Church.
