Subscription Update Obituary

Emile F. “Butch” Montville, Jr., 82, of Auburn, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 11, 2024, with his loving family by his side.

He leaves his beloved wife, Dorothy “Dottie” (LaPorte) Montville; their devoted children, Tina Marie (Montville) Guerin and her husband Joseph, of Auburn, and Timothy F. Montville and his fiancée Melanie Gagliardi, of Danielson, CT; his grandchildren, Jenneffer Leigh Guerin, Ashley Elizabeth Guerin, Travis Ryan Guerin and his fiancée Ashley Thompson, Kyle Edward Montville and his girlfriend Brianna Stromski, and Brianna Leigh Montville, all of Auburn; a great-grandson, Tristan Paul Guerin, of Auburn; his sister, Loretta Prue, of Florida; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends, including Alberta and Paul Banks, of Auburn, and Barbara Daoust, of East Brookfield. Butch was predeceased by his sisters, Pauline Gebauer and Doris Beauvais.

Butch was born in Worcester, son of the late Emile F. Montville, Sr. and Beatrice A. (Cusson) Montville. He was raised and educated in Auburn, and graduated with Auburn High School’s Class of 1960. He had an extensive career in the carpentry industry, working for many years for both Bayer & Mingolla Construction Company and Paul A. Cusson Construction, Inc.

In his free time, Butch enjoyed golfing, fishing, and, in his younger years, water skiing. He also enjoyed visiting the casinos, especially Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Montville family from 4 – 7 PM on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central St., Auburn. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Dr., Auburn. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
