Subscription Update Obituary

     Elizabeth M. (Hall) Hofstra, 84, died peacefully under the care of her loving family on Saturday, January 13, 2018.  She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Leslie and Elsie (Marley) Hall and had lived in California and Alaska before returning to Worcester over 40 years ago.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Donald Hofstra in 2005.  She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Mark Johnson and his wife, Sue of Ketchikan, Alaska and David Johnson of Bullhead City, Arizona; her daughter, Laurie Sanchez and her husband, Octavio of Holden; her brothers, Donald Hall and his wife, Audrey of Westborough and David Hall and his wife, Marjorie of Oxford; seven grandchildren, Cristina Cooper and her husband, Joshua, Nicolas Sanchez and his partner, Jennifer, Mandy Johnson, Cole Johnson and his wife, Lindsey, Elena Sanchez and her fiancé, Brendan Finnegan, Michael Johnson and David Sanchez and his wife, Iliza; six great grandchildren, Kyle, Caidance, Scarlet, Joseph, River and Bodie; several nieces and nephews; and many loving friends.

Elizabeth graduated from Commerce High School and went on to work as a Medical Secretary in several Worcester area physicians offices for over 30 years.  She was a long time member of St. Francis Episcopal Church in Holden where she had served on several committees.  Elizabeth loved to travel and had enjoyed several trips to Alaska and Spain.  She was a member of Green Hill Country Club, loved playing golf, getting together with her High School friends and was an avid reader.  Above all, her greatest passion in life was her family and she adored her children, grand children and great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service honoring and celebrating Elizabeth’s life at 12 noon on, THURSDAY, JANUARY 18, at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 70 Highland St., Holden.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, www.alzinfo.org.  Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden.
