Subscription Update Obituary

     Elizabeth B. “Betty” Chisholm of 3160 Gracefield Rd. in Silver Spring, MD formerly of 9 Donald Ave. in Holden, MA passed away on March 8, 2015 at the age of 92. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Donald. She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law Donna and Glenn Scimonelli of Columbia, MD; her daughter Mother Mary of the Convent of the Meeting of the Lord in Stanwood, WA; and her daughter Valerie Chisholm of Bloomfield, CT. Her son David predeceased her in November 2000. She is also survived by her four grandchildren David, Andrea, Ian, and Katherine.

She was born the daughter of Elizabeth Barry and Joseph Shadduck in Secaucus, NJ. She graduated from the Professional Children’s School in NYC and Brookline H.S. in Brookline, MA. She received a B.A. degree from Boston University, a Master’s degree from Worcester State College, and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She was the statistician for many years for the Holden, MA Little League Teams. She was an active leader in the Holden Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. She was a member of the Russian Orthodox Church.

She taught instrumental music and band for 12 years at Houghton Elementary School in Sterling, MA and computer science at Worcester State College for many years until retirement. She played trombone, euphonium, and cornet in various music groups over the years.
