Subscription Update Obituary

     Elizabeth A. (Stanikmas) Lemerise, 84, died on Friday, October 13, 2017 after a long illness, surrounded by family. Elizabeth was born and grew up in Leicester, one of eight children born to Mary Ellen and Anthony Stanikmas. She lived most of her life in Spencer. Elizabeth’s loving husband, Stanley, died in 2009; they were married 58 years. Elizabeth is survived by her sister Phyllis Slattery; five children: Kim B. Lemerise and his wife Nancy of Boylston, Mark A. Lemerise and his wife Donna of Spencer, Frank A. Lemerise and his wife Tammy of Cape Coral FL, Lisa Lemerise Fischer and her husband Kurt of Arlington, and Andrea L. Thurlow and her husband David of Leicester; three grandchildren: Carla Davis, Tonia Backstrom and Jamie Lemerise all of Leicester; seven great grandchildren: Jordan, Walker, Morgan, Skylar, Kasey, Joseph, and Johnathan all of Leicester; and several nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, focusing all her energy on her family and close friends whom she treated like family. She was also a longtime CCD teacher and chapel volunteer at Mary, Queen of the Rosary Parish in Spencer. She loved to explore and travel with family, sometimes locally by motorcycle and other times to more exotic climates including Hampton Beach, Florida, Cape Cod, Maine, Bermuda, Paris, London and Italy. The Funeral will be held, Wednesday, October 18 from the J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 11 A.M. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, Calling hours are Tuesday from 4-6 P.M. in the Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to either Mary, Queen of the Rosary Parish, 60 Maple St. Spencer, MA 01562, Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) at 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608-1223, or Overlook Communities, c/o Fund Development, 88 Masonic Road, Charlton, MA 01507.
