Eleanor Theresa Jasper (Tempone) aka. Ellie, 82, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2024 and has joined her heavenly family.

Ellie was born to the late Giovanni (John) and Frances Tempone, on March 14, 1941, in Boston, Massachusetts. Ellie graduated from Roslindale High School in 1958 and received a master’s degree in education from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 1965.

Ellie married the late Dr. Theodore L. Provo the day after the JFK assassination in 1963. Together they had three children: Theodore Louis Provo III, Christopher Peter Provo, and Carol Ann Zeitlin (Provo). Her eldest son Theodore passed away in 1982 after graduating from St. John’s High School.

In 1994 Ellie married Dr. James (Jim) Jasper and they lived together in Holden and Florida until his passing. She is survived by two children: Christopher of Shrewsbury; and Carol (Hugh) of Suffield. She is also survived by her grandchildren Theodore Provo, Arianna Zeitlin, and Joseph Zeitlin.

Ellie loved reading, which was a large part of why she chose to become a teacher. Helping young people discover a passion for learning and literature was her true joy in life. Ellie passed her love of reading to her grandson Theodore. Ellie loved her family and was immensely proud of them and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. One of her favorite places in the world was the beach, she loved the water and spent many days in her retirement enjoying the ocean while living in Ponte Vista, Florida with her husband Jim.

We’d like to thank the nurses and caregivers of Beaumont Nursing Home and Hospice in Northborough, Massachusetts for their outstanding care.

Her funeral will be a private ceremony for family members. We ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Tunnels to Towers online at https://t2t.org/. She will be laid to rest with her late husband Jim and son Theodore in the Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton, MA.
