Subscription Update Obituary

Charlton: Elaine R. (Benoit) McNeaney, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, 85, passed away on Sunday, March 31st at Rose Monahan Hospice, Worcester,  after an illness.

She leaves her husband of 66 years, John Peter McNeaney; three sons, Michael McNeaney of Charlton, Mark McNeaney and his wife Pam of Charlton, and William McNeaney and his wife Kim of Charlton; her daughter, Robin Farrar and her husband C.J. of Enosburg, VT; a sister, Laurette Sleeper of Charlton; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Peter McNeaney in 1992.

Elaine was born in Southbridge the daughter of the late William Joseph and Marie Vitaline (Perron) Benoit.

Elaine talked fondly of her trips cross country on the back of a motorcycle with her husband Peter. Their most exciting trip was to Alaska.

Elaine was an avid gardener and if you happened to stop by while she was outside, she enjoyed telling you about every flower in her gardens. Her favorite pass time was sitting in her chair looking out at the pond and hoping to see her swan.

A Funeral Mass for Elaine will be held on Friday, April 19th, at 9:15AM at St. Joseph’s Church, 10 H Putnam Rd Extension, Charlton, MA 01507. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave, Paxton, MA 01612.

The Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, is directing arrangements.
