Edwin M. Santos, 54 of Worcester passed away with his family gathered by his side Monday, October 3rd 2016.

Edwin was born in New York City, a son of Isabelino “Dino” and Gladys (Martinez) Santos. He grew up in New York, moving to Worcester in 1979. Seven years later, Edwin married Maria M. Perez and began a 30 year love affair. Edwin worked for the City of Worcester in the DPW as a parking meter technician.

Edwin is survived by his wife, Maria; his son Michael A. Santos and his partner David Torres of New Bedford; his father Isabelino “Dino” Santos in Puerto Rico; five brothers, Edwin Santos, Luis and Arthur Martinez all in Florida, Isabelino Santos Jr. in Virginia and Christopher Santos in California; four sisters, Vivian and Annmarie Martinez both in Springfield Ma, Michelle Santos in Virginia and Eve Santos in California; his best friends and pets, Kaiser and Naya; Many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

The most important things in Edwin’s life were his family, especially Maria and Michael. He truly believed that faith, family and friends were the most important things in his life. There was nothing he liked more than being with them. Edwin enjoyed Music, especially the classics of the 50’s Motown, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, gardening, flowers and travel.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 7th at 11:00 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Thursday, October 6th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the funeral home.
