Subscription Update Obituary

     Edward W. Burtt, 67, of 6 Cricklewood Dr., died Thursday, May 21, 2015 at his home after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 45 years, Eileen J. (McGahey) Burtt; five sons, Sean J. Burttand his wife Dawn of Sturbridge, Edward Burtt of Leicester, Craig A. Burtt and Marc D. Burtt both of Spencer, James P. Burtt and his wife Deborah of Leicester; four brothers, Dennis Burtt and his wife Janice of Spencer, Danny W. Burtt of Leicester, John Burtt of Barre, William Burtt of Leicester; three sisters, Linda Flowerdew and her husband Michael of CA., Deborah Huff and her husband Hal of Shelburne Falls, Joyce Martel and her husband Paul of Hardwick; eight grandchildren, Nicholas, Alisha, Edward, Anthony, Laci, Noah, Dimitri and Collin Burtt as well as many nieces and nephews.

Born in Milford, CT., he was the son of William I. & Helen E. (Maher) Burtt.

Edward was a graduate of Leicester High School and Worcester Junior College.

He was a carpenter for 30 years and owned and operated E.W. Burtt Contracting, retiring in 2007.

He was a member of St. Pius X Church in Leicester, the Vietnam Veterans of America and the DAV.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and liked his winters in Florida and summers in Maine.

The Funeral will be held Wednesday, May 27 from the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester, with a Mass at 10 A.M. in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main St., Leicester. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4-7 P.M. in the funeral home.
