Subscription Update Obituary

Edward Rodriguez, 81, of Worcester passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.  He was born in Worcester, son of the late Alfred and Margaret (Libby) Rodriguez, also of Worcester.  He leaves his loving wife of 43 years, Viola (Mallett)Rodriguez;  four surviving children, Michele Rodriguez Duval and her partner Kelly Carlin of Leceister, Kim Mattei and her husband Sean of Cherry Valley, Tammy Augusto of Florida, Richard Augusto Jr and wife Rebecca of Auburn, his brother Paul Rodriguez and wife Cindy of Uxbridge; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  He is reunited with his two sons Ricky and Michael Rodriguez and his sister Dolores McCluskey.

Spending time with family & friends, vacationing, reading and the New England Patriots brought him the most joy for which his love and passion were unmatched.   Dedicated to his country, Edward served proudly as a United States Marine Staff Sargent during the Vietnam War.  After receiving an honorable discharge from service to his country, he served as a Worcester Police officer for 32 years, retiring in 1997.  As an active member of his community and a true patriot, he also served as a member of Worcester Police Relief Assoc., IBPO.; the Veterans of Foreign War Post 3329 in Millbury, the Marine Corp League, the 3rd Recon Assoc., The Elks and lastly, past Commander and current Sargent of Arms for the Vernon Hill American Legion Post #435.

Visiting hours are Tuesday, October 25, from 4pm to 7pm at Callahan Fay Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester, MA.  A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 26, at 11am at the Funeral home followed by a burial service at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton, MA.
