Subscription Update Obituary

     Edward J. Mott, Jr., 72, of Worcester passed away peacefully after a period of declining health on Friday, September 23, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Edward was born on February 19, 1944 in Worcester, MA to the late Edward J. and Jeannette (Bazin) Mott and he was a lifelong resident of Worcester. Edward honorably served his Nation in the United States Navy from 1961 until 1965 and he later worked for Norton Company for over thirty-five years before his retirement in 2009. Edward was known by his friends and family for his dedication and hard work. He was also an avid fan of New England sports.

Among his survivors Edward leaves his beloved wife Marie A. (Chabot) Mott with whom he would have celebrated their 50th anniversary together on October 8th. He is also survived by his son, Edward J. Mott, III and his partner Kathy of Clinton, MA; two daughters Kelly J. Plouffe and her partner Bob of Worcester with whom he and Marie lived with, Theresa A. Stoddard and her partner Bernie of Wisconsin; two sisters, Eileen Petit and Shirley Mott; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents Edward and Jeannette Mott, Edward was also predeceased by his sister, Mary Morin.

Calling hours will be held for Edward on Tuesday, September 27th, 2016 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am followed by an 11:00 am celebration of Edward’s Funeral Liturgy at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 PLANTATION ST. WORCESTER, MA 01605. A funeral cortege will process from the funeral home to Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton for Edward’s interment and military honors following the conclusion of services.
