Edward A. Saucier, 81, of Worcester, died Saturday, October 15, 2022 in the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence, with his family by his side, after a period of declining health.

Mr. Saucier is predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Gail T. (Myers) Saucier.

He is survived by his three children; Michele (Saucier) Coakley and her husband Paul Coakley of Millbury, Edward T. Saucier, and his wife Kelley (Tisdell) Saucier of Auburn, and John Saucier and his wife Kimberley (McCullough) Saucier of Waterford, CT, his grandchildren; Timothy Coakley and his wife Carissa (Trafecante) of Rutland, Mackenzie Coakley and her husband Daniel Lugo, of Oxford, Steven, Emily, and Patrick Saucier all of Auburn, and Catherine, Abigail and Elizabeth Saucier all of Waterford, CT, and four Great Grandchildren; Scarlett, Violett & Juliett Coakley, and Benjamin Lugo, a brother Paul Saucier and his wife Margaret, of Gainesville, FL, a sister Linda Saucier and his niece Hannah Saucier of Worcester.

Edward was born in Lynn, the son of the late Armand E. and Anna T. (McLaughlin) Saucier. He was raised in Worcester, graduating from the former Commerce High School, where he was a noted Baseball player.

Mr. Saucier served his country proudly as a member of the U.S. Army.

After the service, he studied Accounting, and worked briefly in the field, before joining the Teamsters Union Local 170, and accepting a position with the United Parcel Service (UPS) where he enjoyed a career spanning over 30 years.

Edward loved all animals, especially his beloved and loyal companions; Babe and Nikki. The squirrels in the College Hill area will miss the snacks he provided for them.

He loved his family, and was especially proud of the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. Edward loved Baseball and country music; he was especially partial to anything sung by “The Man in Black” Johnny Cash.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Saucier family on Thursday October 20, 2022 from 10-11AM in the Callahan Fay and Caswell Life Celebration Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street in Worcester. A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, in Paxton.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to The CSNK2A1 Foundation, focused on finding a cure for Okur-Chung Neurodevelopmental Syndrome, 1929 Van Ness Ave., San Francisco, CA 94109 OR TO the Worcester Animal Rescue League, https://worcesterarl.org/donate
