Subscription Update Obituary

     Douglas O. Shoblom, 76, passed August 2, 2015 after a long struggle with Parkinsons Disease. His wife Jeanette (Zona) passed in 1994. He leaves his daughter Cheryl A. Smith, her husband Mark S. and their children Tyler, Cameron and Kelsey; His son, Stephen D. Shoblom of Cohoes NY and his daughter Alicia; His sister, Nancy Pike of Worcester; His brother Donald Shoblom and his wife Earline of Auburn. Mr. Shoblom was born February 18, 1939 in Worcester the son of the late Otto and Grace (Olund) Shoblom. He lived most of his life in Worcester until moving to Grafton 10 years ago to live with his daughter and her family. Doug worked for The Worcester DPW and Worcester Moving and Storage. He attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Worcester. His enjoyments included following sports, particularly The Red Sox and San Francisco 49ers. He also took great pride in his 1989 Ford Bronco. His family suggests you remember him with memorial donations to Summit Elder Care, 1369 Grafton St. Worcester MA 01604.

Funeral & Visitation

Funeral services are Thursday August 6 th at 11:30 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, (in the chapel) 73 Lancaster St. in Worcester. He will then be laid to rest next to his wife at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. There will be calling hours in the chapel of the church from 10 am to 11 30 am prior to the funeral service. Funeral arrangements are in the care of The Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St. in North Grafton.
