Subscription Update Obituary

     Doris E. (Pion) Mayo 82, of Pine St., died Tuesday, Dec. 27 at Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester.

She was the wife of Earl J. Mayo who died in 2004. She leaves a daughter Ellen M. MacLeod and her husband Norman of Leicester, her son Earl F. “Elmo” Mayo and his wife Bonnie of Leicester, a brother Victor A. Pion of Worcester, 4 sisters Claire McGaugh of Stoughton, Leona Mayo and her husband Robert of Rochdale, Alice Vandal and her husband Roland of Webster,and Irene Mayo of Leicester, 5 grandchildren George and Julianna Hagelauer, Shelby Sequeira, Julie Russell, and Jay Sequeira, and 5 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Doris worked at the Hanover Insurance Co. in Worcester before retiring. She was a member of St. Aloysius-St. Jude Parish and its Women’s Guild, the Knights of Columbus Council 4528 Women’s Auxillary, former member of the Leicester Mother’s Club. She enjoyed baking, bingo, trips to the casino and being with family.

Born in Grafton, she was the daughter of Wilbert and Mary (Desmaris) Pion.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, Dec. 30 from the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Leicester Food Pantry c/o St.Joseph’s Church, 759 Main St., Leicester, Ma. 01524.
