Subscription Update Obituary

     Doris A. (McKnight) Henderson, 73, of Worcester died peacefully Thursday September 10,2015 at home surrounded by her loving family. Doris leaves her husband of over 50 years, Paul E Henderson, her loving children; Paul J. Henderson and his wife Debra of Holden, Debra (Ashley) Mahnoori and her husband Bijan of Ashland, Kimberly M. Pultorak and her husband Stephen of Warren, Paula E. Paldino and her husband Peter of Worcester. Doris is also survived by her Grandchildren Perry, Mario, Tara, Riley, Olivia, Peter, Joseph, Melissa,and Anthony, and three great grandchildren. She also leaves a brother Thomas McKnight and his wife Beth of Colorado, and Mary Ellen Foster of Worcester, also her brother in law Phillip Robinson, many nephews and nieces. Doris was predeceased by a brother Michael McKnight, and a sister Theresa Robinson.

Doris was born in Troy, New York daughter of the late John and Mary (Hogan) McKnight and came to Worcester many years ago. She was a graduate of Troy High School, and also Quinsigamond Community College where she received her Associates Degree in Nursing. Doris worked as a Registered Nurse for many years at the former Worcester City Hospital, and later she worked for the Visiting Nurse Association before she retired. She was a long time member of the Church of St. Christopher. She enjoyed scrapbooking, going to bingo, and a good day at the Casino! Doris always had her camera in hand, she loved taking photographs. However her most treasured times where those spent with her family.

Her family would like to express their gratitude to the Visiting Nurses Association and Hospice for their kindness and compassion shown to Doris and her family during this difficult time. It is greatly appreciated.

The funeral for Doris will be held on Tuesday September 15, 2015 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in the Church of St. Christopher 950 West Boylston St. Visiting with the family in the funeral home will be on Monday from 4PM to7PM. Interment will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
