Subscription Update Obituary

     Dianne M. (Lamarre) Roy, 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Brighton. She was born in Brunswick, ME a daughter of the late Roland and Annette (Bonsaint) Lamarre.

Dianne was raised in Fitchburg and graduated from Fitchburg High School. For more than 25 years, Dianne worked as the bookkeeper for her family’s catering business, Roy’s Food Service. A special place near and dear to Dianne was her vacation home at Old Orchard Beach, ME where she often could be found strolling the beaches. An accomplished cook and baker, Dianne was known in her family for her wonderful Christmas cookies. Family meant everything to Dianne and ensuring she was part of all of their daily activities was most important to her.

Her beloved husband of 44 years, Robert J. Roy died in 2003. She leaves her three cherished children, Robert J. Roy and his wife, Sherri of Thompson, CT, David E. Roy and his wife, Elaina of Paxton and Theresa A. Cleary and her husband, Thomas of Thompson, CT; her sister, Dorothy Caron of Wells, ME; her adoring nine grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Dianne’s family on Tuesday, November 1, from 9-10:15 a.m. at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Her funeral will then follow with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 a.m. at Saint Columba Church, Richards Avenue, Paxton. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave., Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent the Alzheimer’s Association , 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
