Diane M. Porcaro-Paldino, 56 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 22, 2014 at St. Vincent’s Hospital surrounded by her Loving family after a brief courageous battle with cancer.
Diane is survived by her husband of thirty-six years, James R. Paldino; her son, Matthew J. Paldino; her daughter, Deanna L. Paldino; her cherished granddaughter, Ava Marie Stankus all of Worcester; her parents, Francis J. and Mary Jane (Cusson) Porcaro of Holden; a brother, Ronald W. Porcaro and his wife Martha of Paxton; two sisters, Denise Porcaro of Holden and Gina Belsito and her husband Albert of Rutland; her mother-in-law, Carmella “Millie” Paldino and her brother-in-law, John Paldino both of Worcester; seven nieces and nephews, Michael and Steven Paldino, Elizabeth Dumont and Jennifer Porcaro, Danny, David, and Gianna Belsito.
Diane was born in Worcester and has lived here all her life. She graduated from North High School and later received her cosmetology degree from Rob Roy Academy. Diane was a master barber for 15 years and worked for Kay’s Barber Shop on Park Ave. She was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Church. Diane loved going to the beach especially Cape Cod. She also enjoyed New England sports, swimming, taking care of her family but her greatest enjoyment and love was being with her granddaughter Ava.
The Paldino family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to all the doctors and nurses at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Knollwood Nursing Center for the outstanding care and compassion given to Diane in her time of need.
A period of calling hours will be held on Monday, December 29, 2014 from 9-11 a.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with her funeral mass immediately following at 12 noon in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd., Worcester. Burial will following in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: The Jimmy Fund, c/o Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
