Subscription Update Obituary

Diana T. (Fontaine) Powers, died Friday, April 19, 2024, at UMass Memorial Medical Center/University Campus, after an illness.

Her husband of 49 years was the late Richard L. Powers III, who died March 25, 2018.

She is survived by sons Scott and his wife Amy Powers of Ashburnham, and Jason and his wife Annepsi of Worcester. She also leaves 3 grandchildren, Molly Powers, Kyle Powers, Jasmin Powers, and her sister Lucille Neaz of Auburn.  She was predeceased by her twin sister Debra McClelland and Donna Belvery.

Diana was born May 29, 1950, in Worcester, daughter of Joseph R. and Barbara (Ryder) Fontaine and lived many years in Worcester before moving to Charlton, after the death of her husband she moved to Worcester.

Diana graduated from Burncoat High School and David Hale Fanning Trade School.  She was a Licensed Practical Nurse working at Harrington Memorial Hospital for many years, and later for Dr. Gary Jeznach of Sturbridge.  She was a member of St. Nicholas Albanian Orthodox Church in Southbridge.

She enjoyed her many trips to Maine, riding with her husband on their Honda Goldwing, but most of all loved spending time with her family.

Calling hours will be from 5-7PM, Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA 01550.  Burial will be private.
